Moon ring March, 2006
Friday, March 10, 2006. Last night, about 9:20, Mike took Lucy out for her night stroll around the yard, He called me out to look at the sky. The moon was positioned straight above us and it was encircled by a white ring of cloud-like material. Neither of us had ever seen anything like it before. See the picture on the left.

Thursday, March 16, 2006. I??ve not been very good about writing lately and I think its because of the Walmart job, being exhausted when I get home, and not much happening that stimulates the interest in writing. Last Saturday, we spent the afternoon with John & Lucia at their home. Lucia was working in her yard, so I helped and it felt so good to be with a friend with common interests.

We are really struggling with this job and have come so close to walking out several times. Its not because the job is too strenuous, although it is much more physical than we are used to. The supervision is extremely hard to deal with; uneducated, inept, unorganized, unpleasant, unkind, bossy, no direction, and they are all workaholics and sickeningly dedicated to ??Number One?. In addition to that, the place is a pigsty with filthy bathrooms, floors, etc. The more time we spend there, the more we say we will try to avoid it in the future.

We??re also anxious to leave Ocala and get moving once again.

Thursday, March 23, 2006. Today is our 38th anniversary and we decided to take the day off to celebrate. We went to Tampa to visit the Salvadore Dali Museum and use Ben??s Christmas gift certificate. It is a wonderful museum and after the tour, we had a much better understanding of the man and his works.

The last week has been another week from he_ _ at Wal-mart. We both came close to walking off the job on Monday, but decided we should stick it out for the next 2 weeks since we really don??t have anything else going on and have to stay here for a couple of appointments next week. We extended our reservation at the RV Resort in St. Augustine from the 6th to the 16th.

Yesterday, went to Rudy and Sonja??s house for another excellent meal, this time it was lunch starting with a salad of marinated zucchini and tomato, French bread, followed with pork roast wrapped in ham, apricots, cheese & phyllo; roasted cauliflower, green beans, and tomato; oven browned potatoes and wine. After that, swiss, Italian, and brie cheeses & rye bread, then chocolates & strawberry shortcake & coffee. Absolutely wonderful.

The conversation then switched to plans for our trip. We agreed on dates between August 23 and September 15. They would like to start near their home in Sion, then to see their 2 children in Geneva, 4 children in Zurich, a train trip to Paris and a train trip to Florence. Also, while in Zurich, we will cross over into Germany. Rudy??s 70th birthday will be celebrated with a family gathering while we are there.

Friday, March 31, 2006. Retired again!! Yesterday was our last day at Wal-mart and it feels so good to not have to go there again today. It also feels good that we achieved our goal of earning enough $$ for the trip to Switzerland.

Had an excellent time at Rudy & Sonja??s this afternoon. Met them at Dunnellon Travel to determine if we needed a Eurail pass ?? cost would be $500 each so we decided to not do that, but pay for a ½ price pass in Switzerland, then buy tickets as we go. Went from there to their house and met Andy, Sonja??s son who is visiting this week. His family will join him next week and they will be coming to see us in St. Augustine.
